Three-dimensional evaluation of lip position before and after orthodontic appliance removal, Descrição: Measurement of change in soft tissue as a result of orthodontic treatment historically has been evaluated by direct anthropometric measure and later, by the use of two-dimensional photographs and cephalometric radiographs. Today, the availability and increasing ease of use of three-dimensional imaging and measurement modalities provides a more accurate method of measuring changes over time. This pilot study aims to develop and demonstrate a reproducible methodology for capturing and superimposing three-dimensional images using the stereophotogrammetric approach for measuring magnitude and directional soft tissue change. Three-dimensional shape correspondence quantification of surgical outcomes, Descrição: The objectives of this proposal are to validate and apply a new model to quantify craniofacial deformity surgical outcomes. Using state of the art image analysis methods, regional skeletal changes due to surgical correction and post-surgical remodeling will be quantified. Influences on stability following orthognathic surgery, Descrição: Our primary interests, using 3D imaging analyses, are to document the patient-specific morphology and surface remodeling that underlie the variation in stability of skeletal outcomes over time and to assess the influence of the anatomical characteristics of the mandible on the variability in sensory loss following current orthognathic surgical treatment.
