  Cardiomiopatia séptica como componente da síndrome de falência de múltiplos órgãos na sépsis grave, Descrição: O modelo de ligadura do ceco e perfuração (CLP) foi proposto em 1980, reproduzindo a condição clínica de perfuração intestinal e peritonite aguda polimicrobiana. Desde então, esse modelo tem contribuído substancialmente para o conhecimento de aspectos patofisiológicos e imunológicos da sépsis e é considerado, até agora, a condição mais realista, embora não reproduza a complexidade da situação clínica. Um dos maiores problemas no desenvolvimento de estratégias efetivas para o tratamento da sépsis é que a resposta imunológica do hospedeiro muda com a progressão da doença. As mortes que ocorrem no início da doença são normalmente resultado de uma resposta inflamatória exacerbada e os que sobrevivem a esse estado inicial evoluem para um período de imunossupressão com predisposição ao desenvolvimento de infecções hospitalares.   O possível papel da calpaína-1 no desenvolvimento da cardiomiopatia séptica induzida por ligação e perfuração do ceco (CLP), Descrição: Ao longo dos anos tem sido demonstrado que a elevação sustentada da concentração intracelular de cálcio possui um papel regulador central nas funções cardiovasculares. Em consequência desse aumento, ocorre ativação de várias enzimas intracelulares dependentes de cálcio, dentre elas as calpaínas, que atuam provocando a degradação de inúmeras proteínas tanto da membrana quanto do citoesqueleto celular.   O papel da via de sinalização fosfatidilinositol-3-quinase/serina-treonina quinase (PI3K/Akt) na expressão de distrofina no miocárdio de animais submetidos ao estímulo séptico por ligadura e perfuração do ceco (CLP)., Descrição: A produção excessiva de mediadores inflamatórios associada à ativação de células inflamatórias na causa alterações hemodinâmicas e circulatórias diretamente relacionadas à patogenia da sépsis, caracterizada por distúrbios da microcirculação e alterações celulares que causam o desequilíbrio entre o fluxo sanguíneo e as necessidades metabólicas tissulares, sendo o coração um dos órgãos-alvo principais durante a sépsis. A disfunção cardíaca na sépsis pode ser explicada por diversos mecanismos como alterações no volume circulante, redução da ativação dos receptores beta-adrenérgicos, depressão das vias de sinalização pós-receptor, danos no acoplamento eletromecânico das células cardíacas e redução da sensibilidade ao cálcio em nível miofibrilar.
