    Fault prediction in telecominication network on the top of bIg data platform by using fuzzy time series, Descrição: Prediction on huge data is a di cult task, especially when terabytes of data are involved in the forecasting process. Since, such datasets cannot be grounded in the memory of a single machine, using a big data platform, Hadoop for example, together with a key-pair-value paradigm, MapReduce for instance, is inevitable to distribute data together with defined jobs of calculation. Subsequently, any prediction model that is used for forecasting in big data, must have ability to be distributed and calculated on a grid or a cluster of machines. In other words, it must be scalable. Although some libraries and packages for scalable classification methods have been developed, which also is used for prediction purposes, there is a general lack of research for developing real scalable forecasting models. Therefore, the specific objective of this project is to propose scalable predictive models by using the Hadoop framework and MapReduce programming model. Since fuzzy time series need less arithmetic calculations and can be transformed to (key, value) pairs which is a requirement for using MapReduce, proper version of them, are selected to be revised and developed for being scalable prediction models. In addition, a real case study of telecommunication industry is selected to show the performance of the proposed methods.
