Jens Eickhoff

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jens Eickhoff studied Aerospace Engineering at the University of Stuttgart and earned his PhD at Hamburg University of Technology. He works at Airbus Defense & Space (formally Dornier) as System Engineer and as Airbus Expert for Spacecraft Functional Verification. Jens developed the Model-based Development and Verification Environment , an infrastructure to simulate a satellite in completeness in early phases and subsequently to replace simulated units by hardware in the loop. He has applied this infrastructure in diverse satellite programs and was the project lead for the ESA Sentinel-2 satellite s verification & test program. In July 2014 he switched to the Space Technology Innovation Department inside Airbus DS. In October 2011 Jens became Honorary Professor for Satellite System Technology and Operations at the IRS (Institut für Raumfahrtsysteme) Stuttgart University, where he lectures since 10 years and coaches the Stuttgart Microsatellites program. For this program he invented a new architecture for Core Data Handling Systems.
