Vanessa de Oliveira Andreotti

Doutora em Educação, Teoria Crítica e Estudos Culturais pela Universidade de Nottingham (2006), mestre em Tecnologia Educacional e Ensino de Inglês pela Universidade de Manchester (2003) e licenciada em Letras-Inglês pela Universidade Federal do Paraná (1998). Atualmente é professora titular da Cátedra de Pesquisa Canadense em questões relacionadas à globalização, desigualdades e transformações sociais através da educação e professora associada efetiva do Departamento de Estudos Educacionais da Faculdade de Educação, na Universidade de British Columbia em Vancouver, no Canadá. Possui ampla experiência internacional em projetos colaborativos inter-disciplinares envolvendo as áreas de educação, estudos sobre o desenvolvimento, estudos culturais, teoria política e sociologia, com enfoque em cidadania global, atuando nos campos de educação de professores, educação para o desenvolvimento, educação multicultural e letramento critico. Seus atuais interesses de pesquisa envolvem internacionalização, educação global, cidadania global, educação indígena, teorias pós-coloniais e pós-estruturalistas na educação. Foi professora de ensino médio por 7 anos em Curitiba. Em 2001 iniciou sua carreira de pesquisadora na área de educação para o desenvolvimento internacional e cidadania global na Inglaterra (Universidade de Nottingham), trabalhando depois na Irlanda (Universidade Nacional da Irlanda), Nova Zelândia (Universidade de Canterbury), Finlândia (Universidade de Oulu) e Canadá. Com arcabouço teórico calcado nas teorias pós-coloniais e pós-estruturalistas, sua linha de pesquisa aborda as políticas de construção do conhecimento e a ética de representações e relações transnacionais que refletem e são refletidas na educação. A síntese de seus dez primeiros anos de pesquisa foi articulada no livro Actionable Postcolonial Theory in Education publicado pela Palgrave MacMillan, que recebeu o prêmio de excelente contribuição aos estudos de currículo em 2012 pela divisão de Estudos de Currículo da Associação Americana de Pesquisa Educacional. Foi investigadora principal de vários projetos de pesquisa financiados por agências internacionais e já publicou mais de 50 artigos e capítulos de livros. Shifting conceptualisations of knowledge and learning in the integration of the new New Zealand curriculum in initial and continuing teacher education, Descrição: This research project tracked the engagement of eight teacher educators with theoretical discussions related to knowledge societies and post-modernity and traced the effect of this exercise on their conceptualisations of knowledge and learning in the incorporation of the New Zealand Curriculum (NZC) document (2007) in initial and in-service teacher education during 2009 and 2010. As part of the project, teacher educators undertook pedagogical initiatives with students in initial teacher education (ITE) and teachers from schools who were engaged in teacher professional learning, and they researched their own practice.
