  EFFECT OF COVID-19 AND VIOLENCE ON THE WORK PROCESS AND MENTAL HEALTH OF COMMUNITY HEALTH AGENTS IN BRAZIL, Descrição: The COVID-19 pandemic has been a challenge for countries with profound social inequalities including Brazil. Vulnerable population groups, already exposed to adversities including violence, face the most serious impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic. Violence is recognized as a multifaceted, complex phenomenon, which is a significant public health problem that compromises health and impacts both access and demand for health services often compounded by poor governance. Moreover, the epidemiological picture of the social and health crisis of COVID-19, the increase in the number of people unemployed and social isolation can have repercussions on the levels of violence and crime, historically higher in contexts of social vulnerability, as well as on the health agent?s mental health and work process, thereby negatively affecting their ability to provide care. However, there are no studies that analyze the relationships between violence and countering COVID-19 in vulnerable territories. Countries that have been successful in tackling and controlling this pandemic have done so with actions to control the spread of the virus, identifying infected patients and preventing them from spreading the infection through isolation. Data recently indicated that combined isolation and screening strategies would reduce the transmission of COVID-19 more than mass testing alone or self-isolation alone. Well established Primary Health Care (PHC) systems can effectively contribute to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.Brazil has a public-funded unified health system (SUS), established more than 20 years ago. The PHC system is organized by the Family Health Strategy (FHS) through Family Health Teams (FHT), which comprise a family doctor, a nurse, a dentist, nurse auxiliaries and Community Health Agents (CHAs). The CHAs are individuals from the community trained to provide a range of services in the territories, including home visits, health promotion activities, and serve as liaisons between health units and communities. In this context, the CHA has the potential to play an important role in fighting the pandemic by working on contact tracing, collecting information on infected people and providing guidance to them and the community in order to contain community transmission. However, contextual issues, such as violence, can influence their work process and their role in combating COVID-19 and other health problems, especially in groups living in vulnerable territories. Unfortunately, Brazil has a very high level of community violence, among the 30 most violent cities in the world, there are six Northeastern capitals, namely: Natal (4°), Fortaleza (7°), Maceió (14°) Aracaju (18°), Recife (22°) and João Pessoa (30°). Furthermore, this is one of the poorest regions in Brazil, with poor social indicators including high illiteracy, low human development index, and high utilization of the Brazilian conditional cash transfer program (Bolsa Família Program). It can be hypothesized that the violence in the territory affect the CHAs? mental health and work process, including absenteeism and their ability to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic and other health problems. CHA characteristics (e.g., age, gender, experience), self-efficacy and coping mechanisms, as well as their social and structural support may moderate the impact and quality of health care provided. Therefore, it is critical to investigate the interrelationships between violence, COVID-19 and the impact on CHAs? wellbeing and work using a robust research methodology to generate pertinent evidence for policy makers, which can inform strategies and public policies to tackle COVID-19 and to support the health workforce in the communities with high exposure to adversities.   COVID19 e A VIOLÊNCIA URBANA: REPERCUSSÕES NO TRABALHO E NA SAÚDE MENTAL DOS AGENTES COMUNITÁRIOS DE SAÚDE NO ESTADO DO CEARÁ, Descrição: Estudo multicêntrico, desenvolvido nos municípios cearenses: Fortaleza, Sobral, Crato, Juazeiro do Norte e Barbalha. Considera-se que o trabalho em saúde em territórios de violência urbana é desafiador, sobretudo no contexto da pandemia de Covid-19, podendo ter impacto negativo no trabalho e na saúde mental dos Agentes Comunitários de Saúde. Nesse contexto, é possível a ocorrência de limitações do acesso, assim como a redução da oferta de cuidado, nos territórios de vulnerabilidade e governança limitada. Tem-se por objetivo analisar as associações entre COVID-19, violência, condução dos cuidados de outros problemas de saúde na população, processo de trabalho e saúde mental de Agentes Comunitários de Saúde. Trata-se de estudo transversal, de natureza quantitativa, descritivo-analítico, que será realizado em três fases: aplicação de questionários aos ACS; aquisição de dados secundários e organização de banco de dados; e, construção de Mapas de Violência e COVID-19, assim como a disseminação do conhecimento gerado.
