THEO AVIDOS VALLE PEREIRA

Finished high school in 2019 at Colégio Santo Inácio and is currently studying Chemical Engineering at the Chemistry School of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (EQ-UFRJ) since 2021. Propulsion engineer for the Aerospace Research Group of UFRJ since July 2021, researching solid motors and hybrid engines for sounding rockets. Worked as a linear algebra monitor during the second half of 2022.

Developing solid motors and hybrid engines for sounding rockets. Working on the Helios solid KNSB (potasium nitrate and sorbitol) propellant rocket motor since July 2021 for its fabrication and testing processes; the propulsor is estimated to achieve a 3km apogee, was launched succesfully on the Spaceport America Cup 2023 in New Mexico, USA, as the propulsion system of the Aurora CubeSat Launcher and is planned to be launched again on the Latin American Space Challenge 2023, in Tatuí SP, by the end of August. Additionally, designed the combustion chamber of the Kerberos solid KNSB propellant rocket motor, worked on its fabrication and testing processes; this propulsor is estimated to achieve a 1km apogee and is planned to also be launched on the Latin American Space Challenge 2023 as the propulsion system of the Caronte CanSat Launcher. Currently designing part of the fueling system for the Chimera hybrid propellant rocket engine, using parafin as the solid fuel and nitrous oxide as the liquid oxidizer. Taught solid rocket propulsion classes to new propulsion team members.
