As the Assistant Professor of the higher education (University), I have three main duties: teaching, conducting research and providing community services. As a teacher (instructor) I have to update my scientifically knowledge on the course matters I will teach and properly deliver the subject matters. Also I have responsibility to ensuring that the content of the courses I teach is consistent with the course descriptions approved by the University Committee on Curriculum and the Academic Council. I have responsible for stating clearly to students in their classes the instructional objectives of each course at the beginning of each semester. It is expected that the class activities will be directed toward the fulfillment of these objectives and that the bases upon which student performance is evaluated will be consistent with these objectives. In addition, I have responsibility to give on time, proper feedback to create conducive environment for learning. Lastly not the least, I have to advise my student on their academic progress and their research activities for both post and under graduate students. The second main duties I have to perform were conducting research to solve public health problems of the community. As research activities I will develop proposal and apply for grant for international funders and my institution. After securing the fund I will conduct research as per the proposal and scientific merit. The research work will be disseminated by publish the work on reputable journal and presenting on scientific conference. In addition to these, I will review articles and present as seminar for our university community to update their knowledge and to share our experiences. The third main duties I will perform was providing community services on the gaps identified during research work and other main public health issue of the surrounding community.
