Development of simulation programs for the Solar Tower Power Plants in the following projects: ? Project SpOpt (Optimization of the storage system for solar tower power plant Jülich). In this project, the storage system of the power plant with respect to its flexibility, its utilization degree and its econo-my is optimized. For this, a simulation tool for the entire power plant system with a detailed storage system model is developed and thus different optimal operating strategies can be implemented. Also technical renovation measures are developed to optimize the storage operation. Then the concepts are technically and economically analyzed and developed an optimized strategy. The performance simulations are calculated for different sites. ? Project OMF (Optimization of microhelix field for solar tower power plants). In this project, a novel concept of a collector for a solar tower power plant with open-volumetric receiver is implemented. For this purpose, various optimization methods are used for the design of the collector field to get the best annual performance on the receiver. Supervising students in all projects: ? supervising/supporting/guiding students in their assignments and final theses
