Pulak Ranjan Giri

I completed Bachelor of Science(B.Sc) with Physics honours from Calcutta University, India in 1999 and received master of science(M.Sc) in physics from the same university in 2001. Did Ph.D research in Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics, India from 2002-2009 and obtained the Ph.D degree from Jadavpur University, India in 2009. Then worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Universite de Montreal, Canada from January, 2010 -June, 2010. I moved to Universidad de Zaragoza, Spain for the second postdoc position and worked there from April, 2011-April, 2013. My third postdoc was a JSPS postdoctoral position in Ochanomizu University, Japan from June, 2013 - June, 2015. From August, 2015 I am a postdoctoral fellow at International Institute of Physics, UFRN, Natal, Brazil. During the Ph.D period I worked on mathematical physics, specifically on the self adjoint extensions of the Hamiltonian or any other hermitian quantum mechanical operators. We exploited mostly the von Neumann?s self-adjoint extensions technique of the Hamiltonian to study problems in quantum mechanics and condensed matter physics. Apart from that, I also worked in non-commutative, non-hermitian and supersymmetric quantum mechanics. During the JSPS postdoc period I worked on integrable models, specifically on algebraic Bethe ansatz, string solutions, singular solutions and (non)-equilibrium dynamics of the spin chains. Present research interests include quantum search algorithms, integrable models, specifically spectrum of spin chains such as XXX, XXZ spin chains with spin 1/2 and more and with periodic and open boundary conditions, non-equilibrium dynamics and self-adjoint extensions of quantum mechanical Hamiltonian.
