Natalia Moreira Barbosa

Graduada em Ciências Farmacêuticas pela Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho - UNESP, com experiência em produção enzimática por fermentação e purificação de proteínas pelo Laboratório de Biotecnologia Farmacêutica (UNESP) e em Highthroughput Screening para descobertas de novas drogas para doenças negligenciadas, pelo Center for Neglected Diseases Drug Discovery do Institut Pasteur Korea. Mestre em Biociências e Biotecnologias Aplicadas à Farmácia (CAPES 6), dissertação sobre o Estudo do papel da proteína eIF5A na tradução específica, com período sanduíche na Universidade da California em Davis. Doutorado em andamento.

Targeting Kinases and Phosphatases for anti-Leishmaniasis: from screening to in vivo assay, Descrição: High-throughput screening of compounds is an efficient approach to search for potentially effective compounds against the parasites. The Institut Pasteur Korea has developed a screening of chemical compounds against the Leishmania parasites infecting human macrophages. It is a high-content visual based screening assay, considered to be the most relevant for anti-leishmanial drug discovery. One of the screened libraries contained 4?000 kinases inhibitors. Caracterização da atividade quitinolítica de Metarhizium anisopliae e aplicações, Descrição: Nas últimas décadas observou-se um aumento mundial de infecções fúngicas e isso tem chamado a atenção, pois apesar do grande número de pacientes infectados, não há lançamentos de novos fármacos com atividade antifúngica, sendo o mais usado a anfotericina B, desde sua descoberta, em 1956, e tendo seus efeitos colaterais ignorados. A importância da descoberta de novos antifúngicos extrapola a aplicação médica, porque também é de grande interesse agrônomo, pois são muitas as pressões de políticas públicas contra o uso de agrotóxicos sintéticos, devido à sua alta toxicidade. Este projeto pretende avaliar a atividade anticrobiana da enzima quitinase frente a duas espécies diferentes de fungos conhecidos como dermatófitos, que são Trichophyton mentagrophytes , Trichophyton rubrum, e outras duas espécies no biocontrole, que são Trichoderma reesei e Aspergillus niger. A enzima testada é resultado do projeto inicial, que foi a otimização de sua produção. Investigação de Quitinase Fúngica, Descrição: O objetivo deste projeto é estudar os principais fatores que interferem na produção de quitinase experimentalmente em agitador orbital e em biorreator, equipamento eficiente para o processo fermentativo, já que neles pode-se controlar o pH do meio, a temperatura, aeração e agitação, e assim aumentar a produção.
