Jose Pizarro de Sande e Lemos

Fez a graduação na Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (1980) e o mestrado também na Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (1982). Possui doutorado em Astrofísica e Gravitação pela Universidade de Cambridge (1987). De 1988 a 1996 trabalhou no Observatório Nacional do Rio de Janeiro, tendo sido Pesquisador Titular nessa Instituição e Pesquisador Nível 1 do CNPq. Desde 1997 trabalha no Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade Técnica de Lisboa, sendo atualmente Professor Catedrático dessa instituição. Os temas de pesquisa são estrelas colapsadas, buracos negros, cosmologia, e fisica fundamental.
