?Technical Assistance Services to Countries Supported by the President's Emergency Plan for HIV/AIDS Relief (PEPFAR)? - Test and Start Project (Brazil, DR Congo), Descrição: The overall goal of this project to assess test and treat (T&T) services for HIV-infected key population (KP) patients (including men who have sex with men [MSM], sex workers [SW], people who inject drugs [PWID], and transgender [TG] persons) in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) using routinely collected patient data. In Brazil, we are working with the Department of Health in the city of Curitiba to build a HIV care cascade that links HTS data derived from the Curitiba Quero Fazer Mais and other MSM and TGW-focused CTA to existing population-level datasets containing records of diagnosis; laboratory assessments of HIV viral load and CD4 (used as a proxy for linkage to HIV care); and ART initiation and refill. The resulting cascade will provide a previously unavailable assessment of progress towards global HIV targets among MSM and TGW in Curitiba. Furthermore, it will help to identify where successes have occurred in engaging Curitiba?s MSM and TGW populations in testing, linkage to care, and ART services, and where additional efforts are needed to strengthen the cascade, reach global targets, and reduce disparities in HIV outcomes among key populations that are heavily burdened with HIV.
