Laurent Claude Stéphane Rénia
Dr. Laurent Renia obteve o seu doutorado em 1991 na Universidade Pierre e Marie Curie em Paris, Franca, onte ele estudou a resposta imune contra a fase pre-eritrocitica da malaria. Ele continuou o seu trabalho em imunologia da malaria como pos-doutorado na New York University sob a supervisao do Dr. Victor Nussenzweig (1991-1992). Ele entao voltou para Paris em 1993 onde obteve uma posicao permanente como jovem pesquisador na French national of Institute of Health (INSERM) trabalhando em imunologia da malaria na INSERM Unit 313 no Hospital Pitie-Salpetriere em Paris. Ele se mudou para INSERM Unit 445 no Instituto Cochin em Paris onde comecou o seu proprio grupo em 1997. Entre 2001-2006, ele se tornou diretor de pesquisa em INSERM, co-diretor e diretor do Departamento de Imunologia no Instituto Cochin. Em 2007 ele se juntou ao Singapore Immunology Network em Cingapura para desenvolver novas ferramentas e abordagens, onde atraves de analise imunologica comparativa de individuos naturalmente e experimentalmente protegidos versus nao protegidos sera conduzida para identificar correlatos de protecao ou patologia contra infeccao pelo Plasmodium.
