Possui graduação em Engenharia Mecânica pelo Instituto Metalúrgico de Zhdanov (1982), mestrado em Termoenergetica Industrial pelo Instituto Metalurgico de Zhdanov (1983) e doutorado em Ciências Técnicas pela Universidade de Oriente (1998). , atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: bagasse, burning in suspension, boiler, sugar mill + furnace, biomass gasification, cogeneration system. E profesor Auxiliar e investigador del Centro de Estudios de Eficiencia Energetica, de la Facultad de Ingenieria Mecanica en la Universidad de Oriente, Santiago de Cuba, Republica de Cuba, donde imparte las asignaturas de Termodinamica, cogenracion Ha realizado estancias posdoctorales en Brazil y España.
