Stephen Behrens

Stephen Behrens is the KEMA Information Technology Advisory and Integration Services (ITAIS) Practice Area Coordinator and has over 30 years of experience providing consulting services to the electric and gas utility industry. Throughout his career, he has assisted electric, gas and RTO/ISO clients with merger planning, incentive design for outsourcing, business process redesign, strategic information system planning, software strategy and selection, program/project management, information system design, information system implementation, and system integration. Mr. Behrens has over 25 years of Big 5 consulting experience with Andersen Consulting (now Accenture), Price Waterhouse LLP (now IBM Consulting Services), Ernst & Young LLP, and Cap Gemini Ernst & Young LLC. Prior to joining KEMA, he was an Ernst & Young LLP Partner leading the U.S. electric deregulation practice, a Cap Gemini Ernst & Young LLC Vice President leading the U.S. electric deregulation practice and coordinating the U.S. central region utility practice and President of a utility industry vertical consulting practice. Mr. Behrens has often been sought out as an expert on utility industry related topics and has been a frequent speaker concerning customer management systems and electric deregulation. He is a Certified Public Accountant (C.P.A.), a Certified Computer Professional - Systems Development (C.C.P.), a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI, and a member of ISACA (Formerly the Information Systems Audit and Control Association).
