Possui graduação em Física pela Universidade Babes Bolyai de Cluj Napoca(1968) e doutorado em Fisica/Geofisica/Sismologia pela Universidade de Bucareste(1982). Atualmente é Professor Adjunto da Universidade de Brasília. Tem experiência na área de Geociências, com ênfase em Geofísica. Atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas:Sismicidade Global Regional e Local, Sismicidade Precursoria, Previsão dos terremotos, Padrões de Sismicidade, Repetição do Terremotos e Perigo Sismico.
