Dan Marchesin

Dan Marchesin fez Doutorado no Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, foi professor na PUC-Rio e é atualmente pesquisador do IMPA. Fez trabalhos em previsão numérica de tempo. Sua linha principal de trabalho é em teoria qualitativa para leis de conservação, aplicados a modelagem de escoamentos em meios porosos, com uso em recuperação melhorada de petróleo. Orientou 21 teses de doutorado, é coordenador de eventos internacionais no Brasil e no exterior, revisor de várias revistas, e comendador.
