Luis Jose Alias Linares
Soy Catedrático de Universidad en el área de Geometría y Topología del Departamento de Matemáticas de la Universidad de Murcia desde mayo de 2004 y Académico Numerario de la Academia de Ciencias de la Región de Murcia desde noviembre de 2017. Obtuve el Título de Licenciado en Ciencias Matemáticas por la Universidad de Murcia en junio de 1990 con la calificación de Matrícula de Honor y Premio Extraordinario de Licenciatura, así como el Primer Premio Nacional de Terminación de Estudios Universitarios en Ciencias Matemáticas, otorgado por el Ministerio de Educación y Ciencia en octubre de 1991. Posteriormente obtuve el Grado de Doctor en Ciencias Matemáticas por la Universidad de Murcia en febrero de 1994 con la calificación de Premio Extraordinario de Doctorado y bajo la dirección de los Profesores Ángel Ferrández Izquierdo y Pascual Lucas Saorín, quienes me introdujeron en el mundo de la investigación en Geometría Diferencial y, en particular, en la Teoría de Subvariedades y la Geometría Riemanniana y Lorentziana. Durante mi periodo predoctoral como Becario de F.P.I., completé mi formación en la Universidad de Granada trabajando bajo la dirección de los Profesores Alfonso Romero Sarabia y Miguel Sánchez Caja, con quienes comencé a trabajar en el estudio global de hipersuperficies maximales y, más generalmente, de hipersuperficies espaciales de curvatura media constante (CMC) y problemas tipo Bernstein. Más tarde realicé mi etapa de formación posdoctoral en la University of Durham (Reino Unido) como Becario Posdoctoral de F.P.I. y bajo la dirección del Profesor Bennett Palmer, con quien comencé a trabajar en el estudio de superficies de Willmore y superficies de CMC, para incorporarme posteriormente como Profesor Titular de la Universidad de Murcia en diciembre de 1996. Como reconocimiento a mi trayectoria investigadora, recibí el Primer Premio Jóvenes Investigadores de la Región de Murcia 2002, concedido por la Consejería de Ciencia y Tecnología de la Región de Murcia en marzo de 2003.
Mi trayectoria investigadora incluye una destacada actividad internacional, habiendo sido profesor visitante en diversas universidades y centros de investigación, tanto nacionales como extranjeros, entre los que podemos destacar la Universidad de Granada, el Instituto Nacional de Matemática Pura e Aplicada (Brasil), la Universidade Federal do Ceará (Brasil), Fukuoka University (Japón), Korea Institute for Advanced Study (Corea del Sur), Institut des Hautes Études Scientifiques (Francia), Université François Rabelais de Tours (Francia), Universitá degli Studi di Milano (Italia), Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, etc... Gracias a ello, he tenido la suerte de poder trabajar con diversos matemáticos de reconocido prestigio, tanto a nivel nacional como internacional, y establecer una fructífera red de colaboración científica con investigadores de mi área de diferentes países.
Soy un enamorado de la docencia, la divulgacion y la investigacion. En este ultimo campo destaca mi produccion cientifica, con mas de un centenar de articulos de investigacion publicados en revistas internacionales de reconocido prestigio en diversos campos como la Geometria de Subvariedades y el Analisis Geometrico. He sido conferenciante invitado en numerosos congresos y reuniones cientificas internacionales y he dirigido hasta la fecha 7 Tesis Doctorales y 11 Tesis de Master. Mi investigacion se desarrolla en el seno del Grupo de Excelencia de la Region de Murcia ?Geometria Diferencial y Convexa?, del cual soy su Investigador Principal.
