  Germplasm inventory, evaluation and gene banking of freshwater catfishes, Descrição:  Adaptation of gilthead sea bream Sparus aurata, hybrid stripped bass o The endangered freshwater catfish species (Ompok malabaricus, O. bimaculatus, Mystus montanus, M. gulio, M. cavasius, Pangasius pangasius, P. sutchi, Horabachrus brachysoma) were collected from the Western Ghats (India) and they were transported to lab and bred them in captive condition by induced breeding techniques using various natural and synthetic hormones. o The parameters related to breeding and embryonic development were studied for each species. o Feed preparation, growth parameters and bio energetic experiments were conducted during their larval, fry and fingerling stages. Larval rearing experiments were conducted with different types of live and artificial feed. o Observation on different stages of gonadal maturity in male and female and their histological differentiation were recorded. o Lab to land technology transferred program conducted for fish farmers to enhance the socio economic impact by commercial catfish culture. . , Situação: Concluído; Natureza: Pesquisa. , Integrantes: Jesu Arockia Raj - Coordenador.
