William Woods

possui graduação em Antropologia - University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (1970), Mestrado em Geografia e Arqueologia - University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (1973), com enfase em analise quimica de solos em sitios arqueologicos e Doutorado em Geografia e Arqueologia - University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (1986), com ênfase em padroes de assentamentos pre-coloniais. Trabalhou como principal pesquisador de Cahokia durante 20 anos, um dos principais sitios aqueologicos dos Estados Unidos. Atualmente, trabalha como Prof. Dr. nos Departamentos de Geografia, Antropologia e do Centro de Estudos Latino-Americano da Universidade do Kansas, tambem como Diretor do Departamento de Estudos Ambientais da Universidade do Kansas. Trabalha com analise quimica de solos, principalmente, antrosolos tropicais. Tem experiência na área de Arqueologia, com ênfase em Georqueologia, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: analises de solo, historia cultural, padrao de assentamento e arqueologia.
