Ricardo Ribeiro Gudwin

Ricardo Ribeiro Gudwin é professor associado no Departamento de Engenharia de Computação e Automação Industrial, da Faculdade de Engenharia Elétrica e de Computação, da Universidade Estadual de Campinas - DCA/FEEC/UNICAMP. Obteve sua graduação em Engenharia Elétrica (1989), Mestrado em Engenharia Elétrica (1992), Doutorado em Engenharia Elétrica (1996), e Livre Docência em Engenharia de Computação (2003), todos os títulos pela FEEC/UNICAMP. Atua na área de sistemas inteligentes, tendo apresentado contribuições nas áreas de sistemas e lógica fuzzy, redes neurais e sistemas evolutivos. Tem, recentemente, investigado o relacionamento da semiótica com sistemas inteligentes, e contribuido para a formação da nova área de estudos Semiótica Computacional, onde tem participado intensamente junto à comunidade científica internacional. Suas áreas de interesse incluem o relacionamento entre a semiótica e sistemas inteligentes, semiótica computacional e síntese semiótica, agentes inteligentes e a simulação de agentes inteligentes em ambientes de realidade virtual. Mais recentemente tem trabalhado na área de "Cognição Artificial" e na fronteira entre Semiótica e Ciência Cognitiva. Publicou os livros editados: "Artificial Cognition Systems" (junto com Angelo Loula e João Queiroz - Julho de 2006 - Idea Group Publishing), "Semiotics and Intelligent Systems Development", (junto com João Queiroz - Dezembro/2006 - Idea Group Publishing) e "Computação, Cognição, Semiose" (junto com João Queiroz e Angelo Loula - 2007 - EDUFBA). É o coordenador do "Computational Semiotics Group" e diretor científico do "Group for Research on Artificial Cognition", DCA/FEEC/UNICAMP. Além disso, é membro do "board of governors" do "SEE - Semiotics-Evolution-Energy Virtual Institute" em Toronto, Canadá e membro do comitê editorial da revista "On Line Journal for Semiotics, Evolution, Energy Development" - ISSN 1492-3157, publicado pelo SEE Virtual Institute. Além disso, foi o editor geral da revista Controle Automação, revista da SBA - Sociedade Brasileira de Automática, de setembro de 2004 a dezembro de 2008. É atualmente co-PI do CEPID BRAINN (Processo FAPESP 2013/07559-3), responsável pelas pesquisas na área de arquiteturas cognitivas e pesquisador associado do H.IAAC - Hub de Inteligência Artificial e Arquiteturas Cognitivas, apoiado pelo MCTI.

TROCA 2.0 - Robôs Transportadores com Arquiteturas Cognitivas, Descrição: Projeto de pesquisa envolvendo atividades de pesquisa e desenvolvimento de um sistema de controle autônomo de robôs transportadores utilizando a arquitetura cognitiva MECA, aplicados a um robô real, visando a navegação do robô em um ambiente dinâmico (e.g. uma fábrica), mantendo a segurança de seres humanos e do próprio robô. O presente plano de trabalho visa dar continuidade ao projeto TROCA, desenvolvido em cooperação com a Ericsson e encerrado no início de 2020. No projeto anterior, a arquitetura desenvolvida foi testada somente em um ambiente de simulação. Instituto Brasileiro de Neurociência e Neurotecnologia - BRAINN, Descrição: As questões centrais do nosso CEPID referem-se à investigação biológica dos mecanismos básicos que levam à epilepsia e ao derrame cerebral, assim como dos mecanismos de lesão e progressão associados a essas doenças, e estão relacionadas à prevenção, tratamento e reabilitação. Nossos objetivos são desenvolver novos métodos e técnicas para melhorar a compreensão dos mecanismos de plasticidade, danos e reparação em epilepsia e derrame cerebral, e de aplicar esses resultados para melhorar a prevenção, diagnóstico e tratamento. A principal motivação deste projeto surgiu da necessidade de abordar esses problemas biológicos relevantes e complexos, combinando a experiência de grupos de pesquisa com backgrounds distintos e complementares. Um dos múltiplos aspectos que revela a complexidade característica associada à pesquisa sobre epilepsia e derrames é o fato de que tais condições não são exclusivamente definidos, ou seja, não podem ser relacionadas a uma única doença ou síndrome. Esta multiplicidade de fatores biológicos relacionados à etiologia, sintomatologia, prevenção e tratamento da epilepsia e derrames indica a necessidade de investigação colaborativa, envolvendo diferentes áreas de expertise. Além disso, esta iniciativa prevê a criação de um novo ambiente para o desenvolvimento cientifico e tecnológico, novas aplicações clínicas, educação e interação com o setor empresarial. Nossa proposta será conduzida não só por avanços tecnológicos, mas por hipóteses sólidas e relevantes. A pesquisa para o desenvolvimento de novas tecnologias será impulsionada por fundamentos científicos e necessidades sociais claramente estabelecidos, a fim de fornecer aplicações relevantes para o mundo real. O nível de excelência dessa proposta é compatível com o fato de ser clinicamente importante, realista e altamente original do ponto de vista cientifico, combinando genética, neurobiologia, farmacologia, neuroimagem, ciências da computação, robótica, física e engenharia. Os resultados irão beneficiar pacientes com epilepsia, acidente vascular cerebral e outras doenças prevalentes, e contribuir substancialmente para discussões cientificas em curso dentro de neurologia, psiquiatria e neurociência cognitiva.
