Erica Keppel

Possui mestrado em Natural Sciences - Università degli Studi di Padova (2003) e doutorado em ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES - Università Ca' Foscari Venezia (2008). Atualmente é marine biology researcher - Istituto di Scienze Marine. Tem experiência na área de Ecologia, com ênfase em MACROBENTHIC ECOLOGY, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: bentos marinho, invertebrados, distribution e poliquetas. My major research topic is the study of marine ecosystem ecology related to the benthic domain and the benthic invertebrates taxonomy of soft and hard substrata, especially Polychaetes of brackish water of temperate and tropical area. My research is focused on benthic community analysis, the spatio-temporal variability of the macrozoobenthic assemblages and their relationship with abiotic variables, in coastal transitional ecosystems (lagoons and estuaries). My interests are even focused in the degradation of wood pile by xylophagous organisms (Mollusks and Crustaceans) in transitional waters.
