Ana Margarida Mascarenhas Melo

Possui mestrado em Mestrado em Matemática Pura- Álgebra pela Universidade de Coimbra (2004) e doutorado em Dottorato di ricerca in Matemática - Università degli Studi Roma Tre (2009). Atualmente é professor auxiliar da Universidade de Coimbra. Tem experiência na área de Matemática, com ênfase em Geometria Algébrica, Geometria Tropical e Teoria das Categorias. Dentro da geometria algébrica estuda principalmente teoria de moduli de curvas dedicando-se em particular ao estudo de moduli de fibrados sobre curvas estáveis e compactificações destes espaços de um ponto de vista da teoria dos staks de moduli. Ocupa-se também de questões ligadas a aspectos combinatoriais dos (espaços de moduli) de curvas estáveis. Recentemente tem-se também interessado por aspectos ligados à Geometria Tropical, nomeadamente a aspectos ligados à costrução de espaços de moduli de curvas e variedades abelianas tropicais. Dentro de Teoria das Categorias interessa-se por aspectos ligados à Teoria de descida de Grothendieck e a sua aplicação ao estudo de stacks algébricos.
