Possui graduação em Civil and Water Resources Engineering - Wuhan University (1966), mestrado em Hydraulic and Fluvial And Coast Dynamics - Wuhan University (1981) e doutorado em Hydraulics and Fluvial Dynamics - Hohai University (1988). Tem experiência na área de Engenharia Civil, com ênfase em Hidráulica, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: grid generation, finite volume approach, numerical methods and solution techniques, numerical simulation and prediction, environmental and computational hydraulics/fluid mechanics, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), environmental modeling, waste heat discharge, advanced turbulence two-equation closure models, engineering software architecture and development for flow and contaminant transport in waters and air medium, computer graphic visualizations, and so on.

He worked as a civil and water resources engineer at the IEPD,MFAB, and the subordinate two big farms, each one covers an area around 100km2. He mainly engaged in the design, construction and management of civil and water resources engineering and also engaged in the land planning. These works can be stated briefly as follows: 1). To organise and take part in the construction of the Mu-Xing Flood Relief Channel Engineering (the main training dike of the left bank and some spur dikes). 2). To participate in the planning of The Comprehensive Improvement and Utilisation Planning of The 'Three-River's Flatlands . He was mainly responsible for the dredging and diverting planning of the middle reach of the Qi-Hu-Lin River, including the planning of hydraulic structures and land planning. 3). To take part in the design and organise the construction of part engineering items of the Yun-Shan Reservoir (spillway, horizontal drainage blanket and well point drainage system). 4). To work as an engineer in charge of the section of the capital construction in the two big farms to supervise the subordinate engineering group and to organise construction machines as well as to guide constructors. Except for the planning, design and construction of the regional and co-operative engineering projects with other big farms and government departments, the routine works were designs, constructions and management of the local hydraulic, water-conservation, irrigation and drainage engineering as well as the water resources. These works include designs and constructions of one middle-size irrigation pump station and several small irrigation pump stations, two-big drainage systems and their hydraulic structures, one middle irrigation system and several small irrigation systems, some well irrigation engineering, local road nets and corresponding bridges and culverts, land surveying and utilisation planning and so on.
