Eduardo Sonnewend Brondizio

Professor Titular/Catedratico do Departamento de Antropologia da Indiana University - IU (Bloomington, IN, EUA), onde também é Diretor do Centro de Análise de Paisagens Sócio-Ecológicas (CASEL) e 'Senior Research Fellow' do Ostrom Workshop in Political Theory and Policy Analysis. Há mais de três décadas, atua em pesquisas voltadas para as interações humano-ambiente na região Amazônica. Participação em vários comitês científicos internacionais, incluindo o Comitê Científico do Programa internacional Future Earth e do International Geosphere Biosphere Program (IGBP). Contribui também para várias avaliações regionais e globais voltadas para as mudanças ambientais e climáticas e é atualmente o Co-Diretor do Global Assessment of Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (2016-2019) da Inter-governmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES). E é Co-Editor Chefe do periódico internacional Global Environmental Change e previamente de Current Opinion on Environmental Sustainability, ambos publicados pela Elsevier. Eh membro international da Academia d'Agriculture de France e membro eleito da American Academy of Arts and Sciences.

    Integrating Cross-Scale Socio-Ecological Feedbacks In Freshwater Fisheries, Descrição: A pesca de água doce fornece alimento, renda e recreação para milhões de pessoas. O manejo convencional desses sistemas normalmente se baseia na implementação de regras de manejo baseadas em avaliações das populações de peixes. Pouca consideração é dada à capacidade dos governos de fazer cumprir as regras de gestão ou os fatores sociais que afetam as motivações dos pescadores para cumpri-las. Consequentemente, a pesca de água doce é muitas vezes mal gerida e sobrepescada em grande parte do globo.
