Carla María Guerrón Montero
Possui graduação em Antropologia Socio-Cultural pela Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador (1995), mestrado em Antropologia Aplicada pela Universidade Estadual de Oregon (1997) e doutorado (PhD) em Antropologia Cultural, Estudos da América Latina e Estudos da Mulher pela Universidade de Oregon (2002). Na atualidade, é professora titular (Associate Professor) de Antropologia e Estudos de América Latina na Universidade de Delaware. De 2012 a 2016 foi Diretora do Programa de Estudos de América Latina e Ibéria (LAIS) na mesma universidade. Foi acadêmica visitante no Centro de Pesquisas e Documentação da América Latina (CEDLA) em Amsterdam, Holanda (2010), no Instituto Catalão de Pesquisa do Patrimônio Cultural (ICRPC) em Girona, Espanha (2011), na Faculdade de América Latina de Ciências Sociais em Quito, Equador (2014), na Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) em 2015 e na Universidade de Ljubljana e o Centro de Pesquisa da Academia Eslovena de Ciências e Artes em Ljubljana, Eslovênia (2016). As suas áreas de interesse incluem a antropologia do turismo, antropologia da alimentação, e a antropologia aplicada. As suas áreas de pesquisa são gênero, etnicidade, identidade, turismo, e processos de globalização, nacionalismo e construção de nações, particularmente na diáspora africana (Equador, Panamá, Grenada, e Brasil). Outros temas de interesse incluem: associativismo, economia solidária, educação ambiental, educação popular e cooperação. Além disso, tem participado em projetos multidisciplinares nas áreas de antropologia do turismo e antropologia da alimentação em Equador e Peru.
