Kefei Liu
I recently obtained my Ph.D. degree in Electronic Engineering from City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong. Before that I received the B.Sc. degree in applied mathematics from Wuhan University in 2006 and M.Sc. degree in mathematics from Beihang University in January 2009, both in China. From February to August 2012, I studied at the Dept. of Electrical Engineering, University of Brasilia, Brazil and the Institute for Circuit Theory and Signal Processing, Technical University of Munich, Germany, as a visiting research student. My Ph.D. research topic is statistical & array signal processing, centering about model order selection, prewhitening, parameter estimation and multilinear algebra, with a primary focus on wireless communication and radar applications. My research interests/expertise also include statistical eigen-inference, large-dimensional random matrix theory, (non-negative) matrix/tensor decomposition, convex or non-convex optimization, sparse signal processing, cluster analysis, machine learning, and their applications in audio/acoustic/speech processing, biomedical signal and image analysis, and web/data mining.
