Ernesto Schulz Lang

É professor/pesquisador da Universidade Federal de Santa Maria e coordenador do grupo de pesquisas LMI - Laboratório de Materiais Inorgânicos. Tem experiência na área de Química de Selênio e Telúrio voltada para a síntese e caracterização de organocalcogenetos metálicos precursores de semicondutores. Atualmente trabalha em aplicações destes materiais como fotocatalisadores para a produção de hidrogênio a partir da água e energia solar. Participou do Programa de Redes Inovadoras de Tecnologias Estratégicas do RS RITEs-RS.Coordena projetos de intercâmbio internacional como: PROBRAL, MINCYT, PVE e CAPES-PRINT. Desenvolve permanentemente intercâmbio com universidades na Alemanha e atua como coordenador do Centro de Cooperação Brasil-Alemanha - CCBRAL na UFSM. É conselheiro e representante da região sul na Rede Brasil-Alemanha de Internacionalização do Ensino Superior (REBRALINT). Organizou vários eventos na área de química: ''I Encontro sobre Selênio e Telúrio - Brasil'', ''Workshop sobre Química Inorgânica Sintética'' e o ''XX Brazilian Meeting on Inorganic Chemistry (XX-BMIC)'' juntamente com o ''IX Brazilian Meeting on Rare Earths (TR-2022)''.A nível institucional coordena o CTINFRA-LMSPECTRO (criação do laboratório de espectroscopia na UFSM) e CTINFRA-NUDEMA (criação de laboratórios para o desenvolvimento e caracterização de novos materiais inorgânicos). O trabalho em andamento tem resultado sistematicamente na transformação do conhecimento técnico-científico adquirido na pesquisa em andamento em produtos tecnológicos. O principal foco deste trabalho esta voltado para a área de energias limpas e renováveis como, por exemplo, a geração de hidrogênio por foto-dissociação da água.
