Daniel de Souza Malanski

Autor do livro Olympic Opening Ceremonies: Memory and Modernity (Routledge, 2025), Daniel Malanski é Professor Associado (Maître de conférences) na Université de Lyon I. O pesquisador foi Irish Research Council (IRC) Postdoctoral Research Fellow na University College Dublin (UCD). Daniel Malanski obteve seu PhD (cum laude) em História Cultural pela Université de la Sorbonne Nouvelle (França) e em Comunicação Audiovisual pela Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona (Espanha). Realizou ainda doutorado-sanduíche no Brazil Institute do King's College London (Reino Unido) e foi Senior Research Assistant na City University of Hong Kong (SAR/China). O autor também é mestre em Media and Communication Studies pela Universidade de Estocolmo (Suécia) e pesquisa temas ligados à modernidade/colonialidade, nacionalismo, histoire des représentations, estudos culturais e mega-eventos mundiais como Exposições Universais, Copas do Mundo e Jogos Olímpicos. O pesquisador é membro do comitê editorial da revista International Journal of the History of Sport e foi visiting professor na International Olympic Academy (Olímpia, Grécia) assim como em universidades na Alemanha, Suécia e Reino Unido.
