Luiz Augusto Sangoi Pizzato

Possui graduação em Ciência da Computação pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (2000), mestrado em Ciência da Computação pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (2003) e doutorado em Ciência da Computação pela Macquarie University (2009). Em 2009 iniciou seu pós doutorado na University of Sydney, e atualmente é research fellow na mesma. Tem experiência na área de Ciência da Computação, com ênfase em Sistemas de Recomendação, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: sistemas de recomendação de pessoa, mineração de dados, aprendizado de máquina, redes sociais, recuperação de informações, processamento da linguagem natural, e sistemas de busca de respostas.

AnswerFinder - A scalable and portable question-answering system, Descrição: AnswerFinder é um projeto que foi desenvolvido no Centre for Language Technology na Macquarie University. O objetivo do projeto era produzir um sistema que é capaz de encontrar respostas para perguntas de um usuário sobre a informação existente em documentos textuais. O principal problema que AnswerFinder encontra é a representação e o processamento eficiente do conteúdo semântico dos documentos textuais. AnswerFinder utiliza uma variação das Flat Logical Forms (FLFs) utilizadas no ExtrAns, um sistema de extração de respostas desenvolvido na Universidade de Zurich. Durante o estágio, eu restruturei e reimplementei um dos produtos principais de ponto de venda da empresa. Fiz também parte da equipe que projetou e implementou outros módulos de software importantes que implementam funções de comunicação como periféricos como leitores e impressoras de cheques. Depois do estágio fui contratado para dois serviços envolvendo o desenvolvimento de módulos extras para permitir o auto-update dos programas da empresa pela Internet.
