Rafael de Sá Ferreira

Rafael Ferreira is Head of Wholesale Prices at CCEE, the Brazilian electricity market operator. He has 10 years of experience in the electricity industry and holds a D.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering with emphasis on Energy Systems. Rafael was previously a Senior Technical Adviser to the CEO of the Energy Research Office, the governmental body in charge of planning for the energy sector in Brazil. Before that, he was a partner at PSR, a consultancy firm and a software provider based in Brazil, and a consultant for multilateral institutions such as the World Bank and IRENA. Besides having delivered consulting services to clients in the Americas, Africa, Asia and Europe, Rafael was involved in R&D of methodologies and software for power systems economics, planning and operation problems. He is also a member of the IEEE Power and Energy Society, of IAEE and of Cigré, as well as an active researcher and a published technical author.
