Physiology Graduate Student (2003 - 2009). In the Medical Physiology class I participated in formal laboratory sessions to teach medical and graduate students cardiovascular and respiratory physiology. Consulted and taught various laboratory skills and surgical techniques to graduate students and medical students each year for 4 years. I mentored and taught these students medical physiology and surgery using various animal and tissue models. Frog lab included stimulating the sciatic nerve and recording EMG and muscle tension. Rat labs included excising lungs and measure various pressure and volumes. Other animal labs included various cannulations, ECG, baroreceptor stimulation, and cardiac defibrillation. Research Technologist (1999 - 2003). Consulted and taught various laboratory skills and surgical techniques to 12 coworkers, 3 postdoctoral fellows, 6 graduate students, and 6 undergraduates. Taught graduate students how to utilize the goat stereotaxic apparatus that I designed and fabricated. Taught postdoctoral fellow stereotaxic surgery on rats. Instructed coworkers, postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, and undergraduate students data analysis of plethysmography data. Taught undergraduates histological techniques and immunocytochemsitry. Research Technologist (2001 - 2002). Trained and supervised undergraduate students in separate respiratory research projects for the Summer Program for Undergraduate Research (SPUR) Program at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Taught 4 students plethysmography and 4 students immunohistochemistry and northern blotting. At the end of each summer, these students were guided in their final slide presentation of their summer research project.
