Marcelo Melo Soares

Possui graduação em Odontologia pela Universidade Estadual de Campinas (1986), Mestrado em Cirurgia e Traumatologia Buco Maxilo Facial (UNIP 1998), Doutorado em Cirurgia Translacional pela Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP 2016) e Pós Doutorado em Engenharia de Materiais e Nanotecnologia MackGraphe-Mackenzie. Atuou como Prof Assistente do recém criado Departamento de Cirurgia e Traumatologia Buco Maxilo Facial do Hospital Universitário da Universidade de São Paulo HU-USP no período de 1988 a 2007, sendo responsável pelo atendimento de casos de alta complexidade do Hospital Santa Helena ( UNIMED São Paulo)por mais de 10 anos. Apresenta mais de 35 anos de experiência na área de Cirurgia Maxilo Facial com diversos trabalhos publicados nas mais relevantes revistas científicas e anais dos principais Congressos, com ênfase em Cirurgia Maxilo-Facial e regeneração óssea, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: Cirurgia Ortognática, Correção das Deformidades e Mal Formações Maxilo-Mandibulares, Cirurgias Reconstrutivas, Implantes Orais e Zigomáticos. Atualmente exerce cirurgia buco maxilo facial nos principais hospitais de São Paulo ( Oswaldo Cruz, Santa Catarina , Rede D'Or, Blanc) e atua como pesquisador com projetos na área de Engenharia Tecidual e Biotecnologia, participando de linhas de pesquisa em terapias avançadas por células tronco e engenharia tecidual com ênfase no desenvolvimento de scafolds baseados na funcionalização de nanomateriais com projetos temáticos CAPES e CNPQ.
