  Sandwich technique with PRF membrane and i-PRF combined with collagen membrane in a rat calvaria defect model, Descrição: This study aims to evaluate the potential of combining collagen membranes (CM) and injectable platelet-rich fibrin (i-PRF) for guided bone regeneration (GBR) in a semi-critical calvaria defect model in Wistar rats. The hypothesis is that combining CM and i-PRF with PRF membranes in a sandwich technique (CMS) will promote better bone formation than CM alone. The primary outcome is the percentage of defects filled with new bone, while secondary outcomes include the area of new bone formed, bone volume, trabecular thickness, bone matrix formation activity, and space between trabeculae. The study will be double-blinded and will follow ethical considerations for animal use. The surgeries will be performed under general anesthesia, and after each healing period, the animals will be sacrificed for analysis by histological, histomorphometric, and #956;CT analyses.   Guided bone regeneration for horizontal alveolar ridge augmentation using dome technique versus guided bone regeneration: a randomized controlled clinical trial, Descrição: We propose a randomized clinical trial to compare two GBR techniques: an innovative application of an absorbable polymer in a dome structure and a standard technique with guided bone regeneration. Although polydioxanone has been used as a suture material since the 1980s[5,6], it was only applied in Periodontology in the 2000s for the treatment of gingival recessions. In hard tissue regeneration, only two case series were published, one conducted by our research group, with the application of PDS as a dome structure for the treatment of horizontal alveolar ridge defects. Our case series included 32 patients (18 women and 14 men) with a mean age of 43 years (range: 20-71years) who were submitted to GBR using the polydioxanone dome technique between 2012 and 2020. Horizontal bone gain was measured in CBCT scans taken immediately after GBR and before implant installation. The analysis revealed a mean horizontal bone gain of 3.8 1.6 mm at 3 mm below the top of the alveolar crest. Furthermore, CBCT scans taken after 6 months demonstrated that the dome maintained its structure until 3 mm below the alveolar crest. No patient complications related to the polydioxanone dome structure were reported.   Electrical stimulation for enhancing peri-implant bone formation in regenerative procedures, Descrição: Guided bone regeneration is considered a successful treatment modality to regenerate bone along the implant surface.However, peri-implant defects pose a biological challenge since the potential for bone formation in those defects isreduced in comparison with self-containing deficiencies. Our vision is that bone formation can be improved in guidedbone regeneration by the application of an electrical current in the implant connection. This model has never been testedbefore in implant dentistry. The electrical stimulation of dental implants showed promising results increasing the bone-toimplantcontact in osseointegration preclinical in vivo models. Therefore, there is a rationale for the application ofelectrical stimulation in guided bone regeneration.   TRATAMENTO DE RECESSÕES GENGIVAIS MÚLTIPLAS UTILIZANDO MATRIZ DE COLÁGENO COM VOLUME ESTÁVEL IMPREGNADA POR AGREGADOS PLAQUETÁRIOS: ESTUDO CLÍNICO RANDOMIZADO DE BOCA DIVIDIDA, Descrição: O presente trabalho objetiva verificar clinicamente se a utilização de fibrina rica em plaquetas (PRF) líquida associada à matriz colágena irá aumentar a formação de tecido queratinizado em recobrimentos radiculares múltiplos, utilizando a técnica de avanço coronal do retalho, após seis meses de cicatrização. O estudo será clínico randomizado com modelo de boca dividida. Pacientes que necessitem de RR para recessões gengivais múltiplas serão selecionados na clínica odontológica da Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC). Os critérios de inclusão serão deficiências gengivais marginais bilaterais (#8805;3 mm.) em sítios múltiplos e homólogos da zona estética da maxila (entre os dentes 15 e 25), sem envolvimento da papila interproximal; em pacientes com 18 anos, no mínimo; e saúde bucal. Serão excluídos pacientes com condições locais ou sistêmicas não controladas; tabagistas; que apresentem faixa de gengiva queratinizada <1mm; e Regiões de coroas protéticas sobre dentes e/ou sobre implantes. De acordo com o cálculo de tamanho de amostra, 25 pacientes serão incluídos no estudo. Os lados da maxila serão aleatoriamente designados para o grupo de RR por retalho avançado coronalmente com uma matriz de colágeno de volume estável impregnada com fibrina rica em plaquetas líquida (teste) ou sem impregnação (controle). Medidas clínicas de recessão gengival, faixa de tecido queratinizado, sangramento à sondagem, profundidade de sondagem, nível de inserção clínica, espessura gengival, fenótipo gengival (por transparência da sonda + espessura da gengiva), Pink Esthetic Score e Root Coverage Esthetic Score, serão coletadas antes da cirurgia (T0) e seis meses após a cirurgia (T1). Seis meses após a cirurgia, será calculado o percentual de recobrimento radicular. Medidas de desfecho relatadas pelos pacientes (patient-reported outcome measures - PROMs) serão avaliados por meio de questionários uma semana após a cirurgia de RR. Para análises de dados, a pior recessão (dente) do paciente no tempo pré-cirúrgico em cada lado (grupo) será considerado.
