? Interned with a professor at EARTH University, worked with students and employees at the Integrated Animal Farm, and created welfare judging rubrics for dairy cattle in the tropics. ? Generated data and made conclusions regarding the state of animal well-being at the university?s dairy operation. Presented these findings in Spanish at the university and again in English during the World Food Prize?s Global Youth Institute. ? Aided in English classes and offered translating services to students.

Interacted with students, professors, indigenous activists, farmers, and members of the Brazilian Agroecology Association. ? Established an understanding of the agroecology movement in southeastern Brazil via participation in events such as Troca de Saberes and the second annual Regional Conference of Agroecology Groups: South East. ? Assisted in the organization of events, building of bamboo structures, food preparation, and logistics of Troca de Saberes. ? Learned Brazilian Portuguese and obtained an understanding of Brazilian culture while living with UFV students. Taught underserved children about urban agriculture and agroecology in Portuguese, through a local nonprofit.
