Brian Matthew Maniere

I am a multimedia artist with bachelors degrees in Art History and English Literature from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Masters in Interactive Telecommunications from New York University?s Tisch School of the Arts. I have exhibited and performed in galleries and museums in the U.S. and elsewhere, including at FILE Festivals and FILE Hipersônica in Brasil. My work is highly experiential, inviting play and participation. It explores multi-sensory communication to achieve deep levels of immersion. I have learned from artists such as Cildo Meireles these aims can be accomplished without advanced technology, yet I am unafraid to creatively apply technology when it most powerfully realizes the intended result. They include trans-continental multi-media performance (Son(net) Subterfuge), networked touch-based visual interaction (Sandboxes), interactive audio-visual installation (Flow), and live audio/video synthesis (Sandboxes AVC, Gesture Painter, etc.).
