Ky Pohler

Possui graduação em Animal Science - Texas A & M University (2009) e doutorado em Animal Science - University of Missouri - Columbia (2015). Atualmente é professor adjunto da Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (Unesp - Botucatu) e assistant professor do Institute of Agriculture - The University of Tennessee. Sua pesquisa é focada no entendimento dos mecanismos fisiológicos e moleculares que controlam a eficiência reprodutiva em bovinos, mais especificamente nos mecanismos que ocasionam a mortalidade embrionária e fetal; desenvolvendo estratégias que diminuam estas perdas. Os focos primários de seu grupo de pesquisa são: 1) Elucidar mecanismos fisiológicos e moleculares associados a fertilidade em bovinos, primariamente aqueles envolvidos com a mortalidade embrionária tardia usando modelos in vivo que se baseiam nas PAGs (pregnancy associated glycoproteins); 2) Desenvolver modelos in vivo para predizer e estudar a mortalidade embrionária precoce utilizando microRNAs derivados de exossomos; e 3) Desenvolver estratégias de manejo que consigam aumentar e eficiência reprodutiva em bovinos.
