Pilar Luz Rodrigues

Dra. Pilar Luz Rodrigues atualmente trabalha como Pesquisadora Assistente (Research Assistant) na South East Technological University, Irlanda. Dra. Rodrigues possui Doutorado em Sociologia (2023) e Mestrado em Estudos Sociais (2017), ambos pelo South East Technological University, na Irlanda. Também possui Pós-Graduação Lato Sensu em Gestão Cultural pelo Centro Universitário SENAC-SP (2014) e Bacharelado em Relações Internacionais pelo Centro Universitário do Distrito Federal (2012). Foi bolsista do Presidents Scholarship (2017-2023) e do Government of Ireland International Education Scholarship (2015-2017), assim como também foi Student Ambassador no Education in Ireland International Student Ambassador Program (2017-2018), e Ambassador e voluntária da ONU (United Nations Volunteer) para o programa do socialprotection.org. Durante o doutorado também foi Fellow do Moral Foundations of Economy Society Research Centre, na Irlanda. Sua tese de doutorado envolveu um ano e meio de pesquisa de campo, incluindo entrevistas e observação de participante, focando em trabalhadores migrantes Brasileiros nas áreas rurais da Irlanda, particularmente em Gort, o pequeno Brasil da Irlanda. Dra. Rodrigues leciona aulas nos cursos de graduação da Escola de Humanas da South East Technological University, Irlanda, desde 2017. Além de sua experiência na academia, Dra. Rodrigues também teve experiência de trabalho em ONGs, no Irish Council for International Students (ICOS) e Crosscare Migrant Project, e também na agência da ONU para migrações, a Organização Internacional para as Migrações (OIM), em sua sede principal em Genebra, Suiça. Dra. Rodrigues é filiada (member) do Race and Ethnicity Study Group (Sociological Association of Ireland), do Sociology of Migration Research Network (European Sociological Association), do Analysing Social Change Research Group (South East Technological University), e do HIDDEN Cost Action project - History of Identity Documentation in European Nations: Citizenship, Nationality and Migration. Seus principais temas de interesse de pesquisa são: Migração, Políticas Sociais, Relações Internacionais, Cultura e Políticas Culturais.

Energy hardship Understanding issues for people with palliative care needs at home and promoting actions, Descrição: The aim of this project is to examine and address the evidence gap in energy hardship for people with a life limiting cancer diagnosis receiving palliative care at home and to make informed recommendations that will be shared with key decision-makers who could address this economic inequality.The objectives are to:Examine home energy usage and needs of people receiving palliative home care by exploring the views of home care nurses and family carers, patients, energy providers and energy regulators on fuel needs and energy hardship in this vulnerable cohort of people with life-limiting cancer diagnoses;Increase awareness among key stakeholders and decision-makers of home energy requirements for people with palliative care needs.Make informed recommendations and share with policymakers and energy providers the project evidence to influence fairer policy decisions and measures to address the home energy needs of those receiving palliative care at home.This project is exploring home energy needs and usage experiences of people with palliative care needs and their family carers. People with palliative care needs and families will be invited to participate in interviews with the research team.The project has also asked home care nurses from Milford Care Centre Limerick, Waterford Hospice, and the Irish Cancer Society national night nursing service to complete an online survey. Trabalha como Pesquisadora Assistente (Research Assistant) junto com a Coordenadora da Escola de Humanas na South East Technological University (anteriormente chamada Waterford Institute of Technology). Está trabalhando em projetos de pesquisa relacionados à saúde e questões sociais. Mais recentemente faz parte de um projeto financiado pelo Irish Cancer Society sobre pobreza energética entre pacientes de cancer em estado terminal na Irlanda.Também deu aula em Understanding Sociological Perspectives no curso de graduação em Ciências Sociais (Social Science) e em Irish Social Policy no curso de graduação em Justiça Criminal (Criminal Justice).
