Vinicius Moris Placco

Bacharel em Física com Habilitação em Astronomia pela Universidade de São Paulo (2005), Mestre (2007) e Doutor (2010) em Astronomia pela Universidade de São Paulo. Fez pós-doutorado no IAG/USP (São Paulo) e NOAO (Estados Unidos), com estágios de curta duração no MIT, Notre Dame, NOAO, MSU, MNSU e Universitat Heidelberg. Foi Science Fellow no Gemini Observatory - Northern Operations Center, no Hawaii, e Research Assistant Professor no Departamento de Física da Univerdade de Notre Dame, Estados Unidos. Atualmente trabalha como Astrônomo Associado e Head do US National Gemini Office no NSF NOIRLab (Arizona, EUA). Trabalha na área de Arqueologia Galáctica, com ênfase em grandes bases de dados, observações espectroscópicas (média e alta-resolução) e análise estatística de estrelas pobres em metais, com especial interesse no enriquecimento em carbono.
