Opher Gileadi
Opher Gileadi obteve seu bacharelado em Biologia (1983) e PhD em Bioquímica na Universidade Hebraica (1989) e foi, em seguida, um pós-doutorado na Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de Stanford. Posteriormente, ele liderou um grupo de investigação no Instituto de Ciência Weizmann. Desde 2004 ele tem estado na Genomics Consortium Estrutural (SGC) da Universidade de Oxford, primeiro como chefe do grupo Bioytechnology, em seguida, como Investigador Principal da integridade do genoma & Repair Group. Opher estudaram a base bioquímica da expressão do gene e de reparação de ADN, utilizando uma variedade de abordagens, incluindo a análise de ARNm diferencial em células trofoblásticas humanas, factores de transcrição estudos utilizando sistemas purificados e genética da levedura, e para além de analisar molécula de proteína: interacções de ADN. O SGC (Structural Genomics Consortium), Opher estabeleceu o grupo de biotecnologia, desenvolvimento de métodos de produção de alto rendimento (high-throughput) de proteínas humanas para a cristalização. Ele agora lidera o Genoma Grupo de Integridade, que estuda as proteínas e proteínas de reparo do DNA associadas com a doença genética humana. Um trabalho recente inclui helicases estruturas endonucleases de DNA RecQ e reparo do DNA cross-link e caracterização bioquímica de genes mutantes síndrome congênita carpinteiro e anemia congênita Diseritropoética. Atualmente é também o desenvolvimento de métodos para intervir no reparo do DNA usando moléculas pequenas, tais como novos inibidores da helicase DNA Bloom. Em julho de 2015, Opher transferiu para o Brasil para dirigir o SGC Centro de Biologia Química dos protein Quinases na Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP).
