Uta Pottgiesser

Since 2004 Full Professor for Building Construction and Materials at Hochschule Ostwestfalen-Lippe (HS OWL). )Doctorate (Dr.-Ing.) in Civil Engineering from Technical University Dresden (TU Dresden) in 2002. Diploma (Dipl.-Ing.) in Architecture from Technical University Berlin (TU Berlin) in 1991. This gives her a multidisciplinary background in architecture, civil engineering and interior design. Her work on building construction, interior and facade design has also led her to deal with research in the field of creative problem solving and product innovation. Besides her academic career she worked as a practising architect especially for office and administration buildings - and acts as a jury member in architectural competitions. She is co-founder and speakes-woman of the research platform ConstructionLab and member of the research platform PerceptionLab where she is responsible for several research projects in cooperation with industry partners and small and medium sized enterprises (SME). As a co-founder of the European Façade Network (efn) a network of HS OWL, TU Delft, HS Luzern, Universidad del Pais Vasco, St. Sebastian and of the University of Bath - she is involved in different international research projects.
