Eleni Lazarou
Elena Lazarou é Coordenadora do Centro de Relações Internacionais da FGV, aonde também trabalha como professora adjunta de relações internacionais. Suas principais áreas de interesse incluem estudos europeus, análise de política externa e integração regional. Possui pesquisas em andamento nas seguintes áreas: o impacto da crise econômica no Euro e nas relações externas da União Europeia; relações EU Brasil; e relações Turquia Brasil. Elena Lazarou também coordena um programa piloto que estuda a relação entre think tanks e política externa brasileira, financiado pela Fundação Ford, e o grupo de Estudos Europeus da FGV, financiado pelo CNPq. Concluiu seu doutorado em relações internacionais pela Universidade de Cambridge em 2008, e desenvolveu pesquisas de pós-doutorado na Universidade de Cambridge e na London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Antes de juntar-se à FGV foi coordenadora do Observatório Euro-Mediterrâneo, do Centro Helênico para Estudos Europeus EKEM (2009-2010); pesquisadora associada do Center for International Policy Research, da Universidade de Sheffield (2007-2008); e pesquisadora visitante nas universidades de Columbia e NYU (2005). Dra. Lazarou é afiliada a Hellenic Foundation for European Studies and Foreing Policy (ELIAMEP), e professora visitante da Science-Po Grenoble. A União Europeia em um Mundo em Transformação: O Futuro das Relações Brasil-UE, Descrição: Inserindo-se no amplo debate sobre as transformações recentes no processo europeu de integração, esta pesquisa analisa os desafios para a formulação das políticas comunitárias e, principalmente, a atuação internacional da União Europeia. Deste modo, serão investigadas as percepções europeias acerca das relações externas do bloco, mas, fundamentalmente, as perspectivas brasileiras sobre a UE como um ator global. Para tanto, será realizada uma série de entrevistas com diplomatas e especialistas da Comissão Europeia, bem como formuladores de política externa dos Estados-membros da UE e do Brasil. Há dois objetivos centrais norteando esta pesquisa e, portanto, as entrevistas: analisar as diferentes percepções acerca da Europa no mundo; e traçar o processo político pelo qual se deu a construção das parcerias estratégicas da UE com os países emergentes, especificamente o Brasil. A pesquisa, portanto, se insere no extenso debate acerca das percepções externas sobre a UE e, de forma mais geral, na literatura acerca do papel das percepções para as Relações Internacionais.
