Yann Pierre Nouvellon

Sou Pesquisador do Cirad (França), Professor visitante no Departamento de Ciências Florestais da Universidade de São Paulo, Escola Superior de Agricultura Luiz de Queiroz (ESALQ/USP), onde eu ministro uma disciplina de Pós-graduação Intensificação ecologica das plantações florestais . Possuo graduação em Engenharia agronomica (ENSAIA: Ecole Supérieure d Agromie et des industries agroalimentaires, Nancy - França) e Doutorado em agronomia pela INAPG (Institut National Agronomique Paris-Grignon, França). Minhas pesquisas e projetos de extensão participam da area da ecofisiologia: ciclos de carbono, agua e energia, em plantaçoes florestais (mediçoes de trocas gazoas (vapor de agua e CO2) na escala da folha, da arvore, ou do povoamento com o sistema eddy-covariance (torre de fluxo) e desenvolvimento de modelos ecofisiologicos simulando o crecimento e uso de agua de plantaçoes de eucaliptos e de Acacia mangium. Alem disso, desenvolvemos metodos para aplicar essos modelos na escala da regiao com imagens de satelites. O objetivo finalizado é um uso otimizado dos recursos (agua, luz e nutrientes) para uma produção forte e sustantavel das plantações florestais, com impatos minimos no meio-ambiente. Possuo projetos no Brasil em parceria com empresas e participo tambem em projetos com apoio de agências de fomento brasileiras (FAPESP), francesas (ANR) e da europa (projetos ULCOS, CARBOAFRICA, CLIMAFRICA). Antes de minha vinda para a USP-ESALQ, trabalhei como pesquisador no USDA-ARS (US department of Agriculture) na Arizona (Estados Unidos) na area de ecofisiologia (1999-2000) e do final de 2000 até 2006, no Congo no Centro de Pesquisa UR2PI como pesquisador do CIRAD para quantificar e modelar as trocas gasosas entre florestas de eucalipto ou savanas e a atmosfera também para comparar o funcionamento ecofisiologico (eficiencia de uso de agua e da luz, alocaçao de carbono, etc) de varias clones de eucalipto.
