Possui graduação em Odontologia pelo Centro Universitário Fluminense, pós-graduação em Cirurgia e Traumatologia Bucomaxilofacial pela UNIFESO, possui mestrado na área de Desordens Temporomandibular e Dor Orofacial pela São Leopoldo Mandic - Campinas/SP. Atuou por 5 anos em disfunção temporomandibular e dor orofacial na Associação Brasileira de Odontologia - Duque de Caxias/RJ. Atualmente é professora de Cirurgia Oral e Estomatologia na Universidade Estácio de Sá e professora de Capacitação em Cirurgia Ortognática no curso de pós-graduação em Ortodontia no Capacitè Instituto, atua como cirurgiã bucomaxilofacial no Hospital Beneficiência Portuguesa de Teresópolis/RJ e atuou por 8 anos no Hospital São José de Teresópolis/RJ. Does single injection articaine reduce the need for reanesthesia or additional local anesthesia in dental procedures? A systematic review., Descrição: Since its introduction to the market and its progression of worldwide popularity, articaine has been the subject of much discussion. Some initial claims have been shown to be true, more specifically the anesthetic efficacy of this drug by vestibular infiltration in the mandible of adult patients. The activity of articaine/epinephrine combinations has been shown to be comparable to other anesthetic combinations in dentistry, equally safe and effective in humans, and has been shown to provide effective anesthesia with a low risk of toxicity but with a prolonged action of the clinical duration of the anesthetic effect and less systemic absorption of the active drug. Several studies have been conducted in an attempt to demonstrate the efficacy of the use of articaine as a local anesthetic with various anesthetic techniques that would use only one injection in the target region. These studies have been carried out based on diffusibility, potency, onset, duration time, risk of paresthesia, among other factors involved with articaine. Other studies have compared the efficacy of articaine with that of other anesthetic solutions in relation to outcomes such as intraoperative pain in dental procedures and the need for reanesthesia or supplemental anesthesia. However, there is no evidence in this regard which justifies the performance of the present systematic review. IMPACTO DE DIFERENTES ANESTÉSICOS E TÉCNICAS ANESTESICAS EM ODONTOPEDIATRIA EFETIVIDADE CLÍNICA, ESTADO EMOCIONAL E ANSIEDADE, EFEITOS ADVERSOS E CUSTO-EFETIVIDADE, Descrição: Este projeto tem como objetivo calcular o custo-efetividade, avaliar a efetividade, comportamento disruptivo, ansiedade e efeitos adversos da anestesia infiltrativa bucal com articaína em comparação ao bloqueio do nervo alveolar inferior (BNAI) com lidocaína, em crianças e adolescentes.
