Maicon Landim Vieira

Graduado em Biomedicina pela Universidade Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (2017) e doutor em Biomedicina pela Florida State University (FSU, EUA) (2022). Realizou pós-doutorado no Department of Biomedical Sciences da Florida State University - College of Medicine (EUA) (2022-2024), investigando os mecanismos moleculares e celulares subjacentes à patogênese das cardiomiopatias hipertrófica, dilatada e arritmogênica, utilizando modelos de camundongo e cardiomiócitos derivados de células-tronco pluripotentes induzidas humanas. Atua como Research Senior Associate no Departamento de Biologia do Illinois Institute of Technology (EUA) e como professor colaborador da Pós-Graduação em Ciências Fisiológicas da UFES. É cofundador e atual presidente da European Society for Muscle Research Early Careers Association. Na docência, ministra Fisiologia Cardíaca no curso de Pós-Graduação em Ciências Fisiológicas da UFES. Suas principais linhas de pesquisa abrangem as cardiomiopatias hipertrófica, dilatada e arritmogênica. Atualmente, seus projetos utilizam modelos de camundongo para estudar os mecanismos pelos quais mutações em proteínas sarcoméricas levam ao desenvolvimento das cardiomiopatias hipertrófica e dilatada. Alem disso, investiga como as alterações no complexo desmossomal que resultam na cardiomiopatia arritmogênica usando camundongos.
