Isabel Huet

Dr Isabel Huet has nineteen years of research and teaching experience in higher education (HE), including working at different European Universities. She completed her PhD in Education in 2005 (study conducted in Portugal and the UK), moved into a Post-Doc in 2006 (working at Bristol University and the University of Aveiro), was a Senior Research Fellow for 5 years and an Assistant Professor in Education at the University of Aveiro in Portugal. Before moving to the University of Hertfordshire in England, she worked at Kingston University London and at the University of West London. She is now a Reader in Education, leading the Shanghai cohort of the Professional Doctorate in Education and the research group in pedagogy. Her research has been very focused on investigating how staff and students learn and teach in HE; how institutions, departments and individual staff are working towards improving the quality of teaching, learning, supervision and research in HE; and on evaluating the impact of academic and professional development of staff in teaching and learning in HE.
