    Research on villous trees of human placentas, Descrição: A number of pregnancy related disease like pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes and intrauterine growth restriction affects the health of mother and/or fetus. However, there are very few therapies available today to treat pregnancy related diseases. To identify new areas of therapeutic interventions we are studying the villous trees of human placentas. The villous trees are responsible for the exchange of nutrients and oxygen between the mother and the fetus during pregnancy. We use a novel approach of 3D-Microscopy combined with Micro-CT and Stereology to investigate the pathological changes in microscopic morphology of villous trees.. , Situação: Em andamento; Natureza: Pesquisa. , Integrantes: Nirav Barapatre - Coordenador.
