Possui doutorado em PhD Geography - University of Birmingham (2002). Atualmente é professor de administração da University of Exeter Business School. É o co-fundador do Business, Nature and Value Research Center, uma rede internacional que pesquisa questões de gestão sustentável da cadeia de suprimentos.
