  Avanços em Tecnologias Semânticas: Contribuições Metodológicas e Aplicações, Descrição: O presente projeto contribuirá para o fortalecimento de grupo de pesquisa líder internacional no desenvolvimento de tecnologias semânticas, tendo nas últimas décadas desenvolvido programa de pesquisa centrado na ontologia de fundamentação UFO (Unified Foundational Ontology) e na linguagem de modelagem conceitual ontológica e cognitivamente bem fundamentada OntoUML, ambos artefatos de grande impacto. O projeto consolidará a colaboração entre o Núcleo de Estudos em Modelagem Conceitual e Ontologias (NEMO/UFES), diversos pesquisadores atuando em Tecnologias Semânticas no IFES e DTI/UFES, e o grupo de pesquisas SCS (Services and Cybersecurity Semantics) da Universidade de Twente (Holanda) que concentra pesquisadores de renome que mantém um ecossistema de ferramentas semânticas com base em UFO/OntoUML. O grupo proponente investigará avanços nos métodos e ferramentas para engenharia de ontologias, redes de ontologias e sua implementação com tecnologias semânticas. Adicionalmente, investigará o desenvolvimento de métodos e ferramentas para engenharia dos chamados 'data lakes' semânticos (que viabilizam estratégias de 'big data' mantendo a capacidade de interoperabilidade semântica).   Modelagem de Arquiteturas Corporativas e Sistemas de Informação com base em Ontologias: da Semântica ao Suporte Inteligente, Descrição: Este projeto concentra-se em avanços nas técnicas de modelagem de arquiteturas corporativas e técnicas de modelagem conceitual para sistemas de informação, dando continuidade aos esforços de pesquisa do proponente na última década. Serão definidas ontologias núcleo bem fundamentadas para os aspectos sociais e normativos de arquiteturas corporativas?como confiança (trust), valor e risco?com sua aplicação na avaliação, revisão e extensão de linguagens de modelagem conceitual e de frameworks de arquiteturas corporativas. Serão propostas técnicas de suporte inteligente à modelagem com base na semântica ontológica dos modelos. Em particular, serão consideradas técnicas de detecção de erros semânticos, de identificação de anti-padrões, de reparação automática de modelos, de abstração/visualização de modelos e de transformação automática (com realização de implementações eficientes). Será explorado o uso de máquinas de inferência dedutivas e de estratégias de aprendizado de máquina baseado em lógica (em particular programação lógica indutiva), em combinação com as técnicas já empregadas de verificação formal (model finding) e prova automática de teoremas.   Uma Infraestrutura de e-Science voltada à Gestão da Qualidade de Água na Bacia do Rio Doce, Descrição: O desastre da Samarco na bacia do Rio Doce criou a necessidade de se avaliar o impacto ambiental e as consequências do evento. Nesse contexto, grupos autônomos de pesquisadores (a partir de suas IES ou organizados em grupos independentes como o GIAIA - Grupo Independente de Avaliação do Impacto Ambiental), e técnicos de órgãos governamentais (SEAMA, ANA, IEMA, IBAMA) começaram a realizar uma série de ações visando avaliar os impactos ambientais decorrentes do desastre, nas diversas dimensões do conhecimento, de forma a obter uma visão abrangente sobre os danos causados e apontar direcionamentos para a recuperação dos ecossistemas e das atividades socioeconômicas. Contudo, as primeiras informações veiculadas sobre a composição química e a toxicidade dos rejeitos carreados para os rios da bacia do Rio Doce eram conflitantes, assim como os efeitos que tais rejeitos poderiam causar à biota e aos ecossistemas aquáticos ao longo da área afetada. Combinar e comparar dados e informações dessas diversas fontes permanece um desafio. A fim de atacar esse desafio e melhorar a infraestrutura de reúso dos dados científicos, este projeto possibilitará a governança de informações sobre a qualidade da água da bacia do Rio Doce e os impactos ambientais causados na biota aquática.   Interoperabilidade Semântica de Informações em Segurança Pública, Descrição: Considerando a relevância da disponibilidade de informações de qualidade na elaboração de políticas públicas voltadas para Prevenção, Proteção e Defesa Social, este projeto investigará uma abordagem de governança de informações de Segurança Pública com base em modelos conceituais de referência. Será dada ênfase à interoperabilidade semântica de sistemas de informação heterogêneos, os quais contém informações atualmente desarticuladas (sistemas mantidos pela Secretaria de Segurança Pública e demais secretarias e órgãos do Governo do Estado).   Ontological Foundations of Service Science, Descrição: The present proposal aims at consolidating such previous work, leveraging on the contributions from the Ontology and Conceptual Modeling Research Group (NEMO) of Federal University of Espírito Santo (UFES) concerning the ontological foundations of business modeling, to build a core ontology for services under a value-oriented perspective. Such ontology will address, among other things, the concepts of client and provider roles [Almeida & Guizzardi, 2007]; the activities of description, discovery, service provisioning and usage; the execution of actions related to service provisioning, including the social objects, value exchanges and results of service provisioning; the activities or processes needed for service provisioning; the intentionality aspects (client and provider goals) as well as the normative aspects for service usage and provisioning (commitments, contracts and service-level agreements). The visiting researcher of this project, Nicola Guarino, is the sixth most cited author in Computer Science in Italy, according to the Citeseer classification. He has (according to Google Scholar, nearly 13500 citations, an h-index = 37, i10 = 54). Nicola Guarino is also one of the forefathers of the area of Formal Ontology in Information and one of the most renowned scientists in the field.   Ontologias de Fundamentação para Interoperabilidade Semântica de Serviços em Governo Eletrônico, Descrição: Este projeto concentra-se em avanços no suporte teórico e prático para a engenharia de ontologias visando sua aplicação ao problema de interoperabilidade semântica. Ênfase será dada à qualidade das linguagens, metodologias e ferramentas utilizadas na definição de ontologias visando o uso de ontologias no problema de interoperabilidade semântica, com aplicação no domínio de Governo Eletrônico. Como pontos de partida serão utilizadas as ontologias de fundamentação: (i) UFO (Unified Foundational Ontology) proposta em [Guizzardi & Herre & Wagner, 2002; Guizzardi, 2005, Guizzardi & Masolo & Borgo, 2006; Guizzardi, 2007; Guizzardi & Wagner, 2008; Guizzardi, 2009; Guizzardi, 2010; Guizzardi & Wagner, 2010a] por pesquisadores do Núcleo de Estudos em Modelagem Conceitual e Ontologias (NEMO) junto a colaboradores da comunidade internacional de ontologias; e (ii) DOLCE (Descriptive Ontology for Linguistic and Cognitive Engineering) proposta pelo parceiro internacional deste projeto (Laboratory for Applied Ontology (LOA), ISTC, CNR). Estas ontologias incorporam avanços complementares e serão harmonizadas para prover uma fundamentação semântica única para aplicação no problema da interoperabilidade semântica no domínio de Governo Eletrônico.   Ontologias de Fundamentação para Interoperabilidade Semântica de Serviços, Descrição: Este projeto concentra-se em avanços no uso de ontologias de fundamentação para interoperabilidade semântica de serviços desenvolvidos independentemente. O problema de interoperabilidade semântica com base em ontologias é abordado de duas formas complementares. Primeiramente, uma vez que serviços eletrônicos são tipicamente desenvolvidos independentemente, há a necessidade de se capturar a ontologia de domínio subjacente aos processos dos diversos parceiros (clientes e/ou provedores) presentes em um ecossistema de serviços. Adicionalmente, os diversos serviços devem ser descritos, descobertos, compostos e executados. Desta forma, é necessário explicitar as características dos diversos serviços, o que pressupõe a existência de uma ontologia compartilhada de serviços. Neste projeto serão harmonizadas as ontologias de fundamentação UFO e DOLCE, para prover uma base semântica abrangente para categorias ontológicas, relações, conceitos sociais e intencionais que possam ser usados na: (i) definição de uma ontologia de serviços e (ii) na definição de ontologias de domínio para composição (integração) de serviços específicos.   EU IST SPICE - Service Platform for Innovative Communication Environment, Descrição: SPICE (Service Platform for Innovative Communication Environment) is addressing the still unsolved problem of designing, developing and putting into operation efficient and innovative mobile Service creation/execution platforms for networks beyond 3G. This project will research, prototype and evaluate an extendable overlay architecture and framework to support, easy and quick service creation, test and deployment of intelligent mobile communication and information services. Building on significant advances in IT technologies, the SPICE platform will support multiple heterogeneous execution platforms allowing for new, innovative services to be spread across different operator domains and over different countries realizing a variety of business models.   Freeband WASP - Web Architectures for Services Platforms, Descrição: The WASP application environment has the following characteristics: Applications are independent of the underlying platform or the network used, and can operate in multi-operator and multi-vendor environments Seamless integration between networks and services is possible based on web services with clear, standardised interfaces for information exchange Services, and multimedia services in particular, can be adapted to the capacities of the network and the end user's mobile device Services can be personalised Intelligent searching for relevant services in a broad and dynamic range of services Combination of voice and data services In the past, standards organisations such as OSA and Parlay have called for such benefits. However, in practice, integration with interfaces according to these standards remains a complex issue. In addition, the relevant knowledge is hard to transfer. This hampers rapid application development. Because of their transparent approach, web services can potentially access a much larger market. And because of the worldwide standardisation of the publication, description and invocation of services, knowledge regarding these services is transferred more easily.   EU IST MODA-TEL, Descrição: The main objective of this project is to provide the industry with the methodology and tools to apply model driven architectures and related technologies and to contribute to industrial standardisation bodies in order to obtain standards suitable for telecommunications applications. Furthermore to advance the current state-of-the-art by doing research in areas that have not been addressed so far, like business modelling, QoS awareness, model transformations and their traceability, and UML improvements. MODA-TEL is a joint effort of European telecommunication network operators, service providers, tool vendors, systems integrators and academia with the objective to advance the software engineering practices, specifically addressing the telecommunications domain in which systems and services are very complex and heterogeneous, requiring always legacy integration.
